Yggdrasil Bronze pendant

Yggdrasil (the tree of life) in Norse mythology was a giant ash, where the green treetops went all the way up to the sky, and the roots went so deep that they stretched through three different worlds. Between the underground Hell, where the dragon Nidhugg chews on its roots and where Urd’s well is located. The other worlds passed Mimer’s well to Jotunheimen, and the third passes Hvergelmer and leads to Nifleheim. In Yggdrasil’s tree crown lived four deer, Dain, Dvalin, Dunør and Duratro, where they ate from the tree’s fresh leaves. At the top of the treetop sat a giant eagle looking out over the world. During Ragnarokk, the tree is uprooted and burned as a result of the large forest fires that will ravage.
